Katie Allison is an experienced and professional sports therapist based in Mid Sussex

I am a fully qualified and insured Sports Therapist having carried out my sports massage training in 2010 and in September 2019, I completed my MSc in Sports Therapy at London Metropolitan University. I am a full member of both The Sports Massage Association and The Society of Sports Therapists.

I played international level lacrosse for over 10 years, competing in two World Championships and it was during this time that I first experienced the benefits of good quality sports massage for reducing muscular soreness, tightness, fatigue and for preventing injury.

Now as a mum of two and county league hockey player, I also understand the benefits of sports massage to the non-sportsperson or weekend athlete, for reducing stress or tension within the body, as well as relieving and resolving that nagging ache or pain.

For the 2011 / 2012 season I worked with the Women's Wales Lacrosse Team as their sports massage therapist for the Home Internationals Tournament and European Championships, where they won the Silver medal. It was a great experience to move from player to medical team and an excellent opportunity to work with elite athletes.

I thoroughly enjoy combining my love of sport and exercise with practicing sports therapy and

continually look to progress my skills and keep abreast of developments within physical therapy and rehabilitation.

As well as completing my MSc in Sports Therapy at London Metropolitan University in September, I also qualified as a Personal Trainer in July and look to start my Pilates training in early 2020.
